FIRST ANNUAL REPORT
The Bitcoin Students Network (BSN) is a global network for students passionate about Bitcoin, fostering a connected community of student clubs and individual Bitcoiners. Its mission is to connect students with resources, opportunities, and each other to explore Bitcoin education, collaboration, and active participation in the ecosystem.
The network supports the creation and growth of university Bitcoin clubs, facilitates resource sharing, acts as a bridge to industry, and provides logistical, educational, and financial support.
BSN strengthens Bitcoin’s human infrastructure, its “Layer 0,” by empowering students worldwide with tools, mentorship, and pathways into the Bitcoin space.
In October 2023, we began scraping Bitcoin job listings from platforms like BitcoinerJobs and shared them on Telegram to help Bitcoiners find jobs faster.
In 2024, we started scraping the careers pages of Bitcoin companies directly and expanded our job feed to Nostr, to help employers to find talent faster.
Bitvocation serves both job seekers and employers. With this Annual Report, we celebrate one year of Bitcoin job data, trends, and analysis for all stakeholders in our community.
Why we founded the BSN
Arsh and I started BSN so no young Bitcoiner would ever have to step into Bitcoin alone. We wanted to create a global network where students can find peers, build clubs, launch ideas, and discover real pathways into the industry — from internships to full-time roles.
Above all, our hope was to empower students with knowledge, community, and opportunities, and to invite them into a conversation that truly needs them because they are the leaders of the future.

THE YEAR IN REVIEW
HOW MANY BITCOIN JOBS WERE THERE IN 2024?
This is a key question, as it lays the foundation for all further analysis.
In 2024, we scraped over 2,000 job listings. However, at Bitvocation, we aim for accuracy, so the real number is 1,707 unique job postings.
What does "unique" mean?
Since we scrape multiple sources, some posts appear across different sites. About 18% of them are duplicates, which we remove during the first step of our deduplication process.
Employers also often list identical jobs under different locations to gain more visibility. Those identical listings (12%) are removed in the second step.

What Will Be the Hotspot in 2025?
In 2024, job listings were associated with 46 countries worldwide. No country came close to matching the United States in total job postings.
However, Europe had the highest number of countries represented, with 23, averaging 11 job postings per country.

GLOBAL JOB DISTRIBUTION
Many on-site and hybrid roles specify a location, and some remote positions are limited to a country or continent as well.
Over half of the job posts we track include location data, fuelling our interactive map.
This chart highlights the geographic spread of Bitcoin roles, helping job seekers identify hotspots and recruiters tailor strategies to regional demand.

EMERGING FIRMS OF 2024
Smaller Company, Bigger Bitcoin Focus
An interesting trend emerges when we examine mid-sized and smaller companies in the Bitcoin industry: the smaller the company, the more likely it is to focus exclusively on Bitcoin.
Across all companies (as shown in the previous slide), only 2 out of 10 are Bitcoin-only businesses. However, among companies with fewer than 21 employees that posted the most job openings in 2024, every single one was Bitcoin-only!
TOP EMPLOYERS OF 2024
Exchanges Dominated the Top Ranks
Exchanges and wallet providers are among the earliest business models in the Bitcoin industry and are now well-established.
Currently, only 2 out of the top 10 are true Bitcoin-Only* businesses.

Distinguishing Bitcoin-Only businesses from others is a key focus for us, and we're working on ways to enhance this distinction in 2025.

Preferred Channels for Talent Acquisition
LinkedIn is the clear winner here, as well as niche Bitcoin-focused job boards and their own companie’s career pages.
Additionally, Twitter/X plays a pivotal role and also Nostr for some.
Roles hardest to fill

Enthusiasm is not enough
Some recruiters noted a gap in fundamental Bitcoin knowledge, even among candidates within the Bitcoin community.
